Google Pixel alarm quick phrases pop up “Say snooze” or “Say stop” randomly appearing on screen

I like the Quick Phrases feature on my Pixel as it makes certain things easy and more convenient to handle. For example, if I want to extend my sleeping hours in the morning, but are interrupted by the sound of the alarm, I can snooze or stop the alarm on Google Pixel by simply saying so. To get this feature working, you’ll first need to set it up in Settings. Once turned on, your Pixel will show pop up – either ‘Say Snooze’ or ‘Say Stop’ every time your alarm rings. However, some users are reporting that these pop ups are randomly appearing on screen out of the blue.

Users say that they are getting the tip bubble to appear randomly throughout the day asking them to say snooze or stop. Reports suggest that most people are only getting ‘Say Snooze’ tip bubble, whole ‘Say Stop’ bubble rarely appears. However, it’s strange getting these tips when there is no alarm ringing. Users even turned off their upcoming alarm to get rid of this bug, but the pop ups still never stopped. Most reports are from Pixel 8 Pro owners, but this could be a general Pixel problem.

Workarounds to fix random Say Snooze or Say Stop pop up on Pixel

Users have confirmed that this bug doesn’t get resolved by using generic workarounds like restarting the device or turning off the alarm. However, some of those affected have come up with workarounds that have worked. If you see these pop ups randomly appear on your screen, then try the below-mentioned fixes.

1. Turn off Quick Phrases

If you have the Quick Phrases feature enabled on your Pixel device, then you should try turning it off to get rid of these annoying pop ups. Here’s how to do so:

  • Open Settings on your Google Pixel and head to Google

  • Open All services in Google services tab and click on Search, Assistant, and Voice
  • Next, open Google Assistant settings
  • Now, look for Quick phrases and open it.

  • Finally, toggle off Alarms and timers.

2. Force stop Google app

As per some users, force stopping the Google app has helped resolve the issue. You can try it out and see if it does the trick for you too. To do so, press and hold the Google app until you get ‘app info’ option.

Under the App info section, simply click on Force Stop.

3. Use the feature once

Some users have confirmed that using the feature once will stop it from appearing again and again. It appears to be a tip from Google that needs to be addressed once. Therefore, you can use it once by setting an alarm on your Pixel and once it rings, either say “Snooze” or “Stop”. Once you do so, you won’t see the pop ups again and again.

4. Update your device

If none of these workarounds have helped you fix this issue, then you should make sure if your device is up to date. If it’s not, then updating your phone might fix the issue. To check for new updates on Pixel, go to Settings > System > Software updates, and check for System update.

It can be frustrating seeing random pop ups on the screen, but these workarounds will certainly help you get rid of the issue. If not, then wait for Google to release a fix for the same. Unfortunately, Google hasn’t responded to the complaints as of yet, but we hope that they acknowledge and fix it soon.
